The Sun Jupiter and Uranus form a Cardinal T-square Jan 9th to 14th
This T-square transforms into a Grand Square with the Full Moon on Thursday.
The announcement of a possible 'New Star' which may flare up to naked eye visibility in 2022, see Saturday's Daze, has caused quite a stir in the astronomical community, if not yet in the astrological world. The binary stars have been calculated to maybe merge and explode. The object is 1800 light years distance and has ecliptic coordinates 11 degrees 35.3 minutes in tropical Aquarius. It will be red I understand, rather ominous as at that time Saturn will also be in Aquarius. It is very closely conjunct the Midheaven of the Pakistan National chart, and Tony Blair's Moon. It is magnitude 12, so not visible to the naked eye at the moment, but is very well positioned for northern hemisphere summer skies. Very exciting. This prediction is unprecedented.
A simulated view of the contact binary system KIC 9832227. The larger star is about half again as wide as the Sun, whereas the smaller one is about 80% as wide as our star.

The accelerating Moon in Gemini enters her waxing gibbous phase 04:50, we enter the approach to a very climatic Full Moon.
The Moon forms a tight Mutable T Square with Venus and the Lunar Node 07:00 to 09:00
The Moon squares her nodal axis from south of the ecliptic. 07:33
The Moon squares Venus 08:31
Mars biquintiles Jupiter 12:26
The Moon squares Neptune 14:19
Aldebaran shines to the Moon's lower left during evening for North America. The Moon occults Aldebaran for Arabia, India, China, and Japan
State of the sky:-
Today the Sun reaches 19 degrees Capricorn. There are 71 days to the Vernal Equinox. We are about to enter a new eclipse seasons The Sun and Pluto are in Capricorn. Mercury and Saturn are in Sagittarius, Venus, Mars and Neptune are in Pisces.
Mercury is a direct morning star who entered Sagittarius on Jan 4th, spending 8 days in that sign. Mercury turned direct at 29 Sagittarius yesterday, re-enters Capricorn on Jan 12th, gets back up to speed by Jan 20th, sextiles Neptune a third time on Jan 23rd and enters new territory on Jan 28th. Mercury is conjunct Pluto on Jan 29th at 18 Capricorn, squares Uranus on Feb 1st, squares Jupiter on Feb 2nd and enters Aquarius on Feb 7th.
The distinguishing triple sextile to Neptune in Pisces casts an otherworldly and unreal hue onto what is essentially a very practical and realistic thinking period, except that is for these 8 days when Mercury hovers in late Sagittarius which promises very expressive outbursts.
Mercury next turns retrograde on April 9th at 5 degrees Taurus.
Venus is approaching her retrograde phase. This results in her not being clear from Pisces for nearly 4 months. She is conjunct Neptune at 11 Pisces on Jan 12th, potentially adding a ray of pure enchantment to the Full Moon on that day. She sextiles Pluto on Jan 20th and squares Saturn on Jan 27th with shades of disappointment. She enters Aries on Feb 3rd and the first chapter of this story is over. On Feb 10th Mercury, now direct, sextiles Venus again. On March 4th Venus turns retrograde at 13 Aries. Mercury is conjunct retro-Venus on March 18th at 9 Aries, head now rules the heart. Venus is at Inferior Conjunction with the Sun on March 25th at 4 Aries and as a morning star slips back into Pisces on April 3rd, concluding the reflective second chapter. She then squares Saturn a second time on April 8th and then turns direct at 27 Pisces on April 15th. Venus sextiles Mars in Taurus on April 17th and squares Saturn a third and final time on April 21st. Venus finally leaves Pisces for Aries on April 28th and this part of the story ends. Her triple square to Saturn does indeed add an unfulfilling theme to this planetary twist, but for the moment, bright 'evening star' Venus in Pisces bestows good grace.
Mars is in Pisces. Mars slides through Pisces in just 40 days. He sextiles Pluto on Jan 11th and squares Saturn on Jan 19th. Mars enters Aries on Jan 28th 2017. Mars in Pisces weaves and wavers.
Jupiter is now direct in Libra. All of our personal and social relationships will be under focus. Weddings, proposals, engagements and divorces are ahoy! This one is romantic, fanciful and showy, and serves to bring people together.
On the world stage Jupiter in Libra brings into being new political movements, new commerce and business initiatives, new Law making, and Aerospace enterprises.
Jupiter squared Pluto on Nov 24th 2016. Jupiter opposed Uranus on boxing day, 'the boxing day event', and does so again on March 3rd, both dates invoking climatic events in one's personal life. He squares Pluto a 2nd time on March 30th. Jupiter is quintile Saturn on May 3rd 2017 and June 5th 2017, (prior to a single waning sextile between these two on Aug 27th 2017 and their Grand Conjunction at the start of Aquarius on the Winter Solstice 2020). Jupiter finally squares Pluto on Aug 4th 2017. He opposes Uranus a final time on Sept 28th 2017. Jupiter enters Scorpio on October 10th 2017. The waning square Jupiter and Pluto, these two big time 'power hungry' planets (of a cycle that began in 2007), precedes their triple conjunction in Capricorn in 2020. 'Power plays' and 'transfers of power' dominate the skies right now, and with Uranus adding his influence as 2017 approaches by forming a T-square with today's square, a degree of shock and surprise will be woven into this one. The T-square of Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto is at its most potent in March 2017.
Saturn is now direct in Sagittarius. Saturn is making 3 invigorating 'fire trine' aspects to Uranus. The first one occurred on Christmas Day, the 2nd on May 19th 2017 and the final hit is on Nov 11th 2017. This is one of the astrological hallmarks of 2017 and it certainly is an improvement on previous years' dire hallmarks. This one harnesses constructive and inspirational energy and can be warmly embraced. The changes ahead are less painful, even healing. Saturn enters Capricorn on the northern hemisphere Winter Solstice 2017, ring big solstice bells then. Saturn is conjunct Pluto on 12th January 2020.
Uranus is now direct in Aries. Uranus enters Taurus on May 15th 2018.
Neptune is now direct in Pisces. Neptune enters Aries on March 30th 2025.
Pluto is now direct in Capricorn 15 degrees of that sign. Pluto in Capricorn is approaching the ecliptic from the north. A transit of the Sun by the Earth visible from Pluto, ie the 3 bodies linearly aligned, occurs on July 12th 2018, between 09:40 and 19:05 UT on the day before a solar eclipse. This precedes Pluto crossing the ecliptic on October 31st 2018 at 01:13. This last occurred on July 2nd 1770, (the day after Lexell's comet, the closest ever approach to Earth by a comet in recorded history). Pluto enters Aquarius on March 23rd 2023.
Planet Sedna was discovered in 2003, the first of this rather ravaged set of archetypes. Sedna is named after the Inuit Goddess. Her orbit is a vast 10500 year period. Currently near perihelion she entered Taurus in 1967 and will enter Gemini in 2024. In 2017 she is at 25-26 degrees Taurus. Sedna is the 'Ice age of the soul' her message is to 'Claim your Power'.
Planet Eris discovered in 2005 with a 560 year orbit, the 'Queen of Chaotic Fate' and 'Warrior Goddess and Great Disrupter', entered Aries in 1925 and enters Taurus in 2047. She is in 2017 at 22-24 degrees Aries. Her conjunction with Uranus this year and last is astrological dynamite.
The next eclipse is a penumbral lunar eclipse at 23 Leo on Feb 11th 2017. The eclipsed Moon at that time is in grand fire trine with Saturn and Uranus and is sextile Jupiter and so is very positive inducing colourful events. This is followed by an Annular Solar Eclipse at 8 Pisces conjunct Neptune on Feb 26th 2017. Mars is conjunct Uranus opposite Jupiter all quite tightly, at that time, so that one has an electric line running through it. Quite a shocker. The next Total Solar Eclipse is the 'American Eclipse on August 21st 2017 at 29 Leo trine Uranus. The next Total Lunar eclipse is on Jan 31st 2018 at 12 Leo but is not visible from the UK. The following Total Lunar Eclipse on July 27th 2018 is visible at Moonrise from the UK.
