Israel is in focus. As Ariel Sharon gains power in Israel, the Daze gazes at the important Middle Eastern astrological charts. The Israeli National chart has a progressed New Moon this year in Cancer (14 degrees), at the very end of August. This is only the second progressed new Moon in Israel's history, the first being in 1972 in Gemini. The Nation of Israel was officially begun five days after an Annular Solar Eclipse in Taurus, a time of a 'difficult birth'. In 1956 at the time of the first progressed Full Moon in Sagittarius, the |Suez War was raging. In 1967 with progressed Moon in Aries the six day war occurred. The second progressed Full Moon occurred in 1986 at the very start of Capricorn, and now, amid many very difficult transits the dying embers of the lunation cycle are manifest. There is a new start for Israel this year, but the future astrologically is full of difficult transits and progressions. This year we will see Uranus square Natal Sun, Saturn conjunct Natal Venus, square Natal Mars. The year 2002 sees Uranus opposite Natal Mars, Progressed Mars square Natal Uranus, and Saturn conjunct natal Uranus. The picture appears warlike, violent and very shocking.

Ariel Sharon riding high right now (Feb. 2001) on the slip stream of Neptune transiting his Venus, has before him Saturn conjunct his natal Moon (for the last time, March 2001) and he has Uranus squaring this same Natal Moon next year (2002). Uranus conjuncts his natal Mercury and sun in the years 2003, 2004, and 2005. Elected at the time of Mercury retrograding, we at the daze expect nothing but difficulties for his office. His progressed Moon is currently waning, in Capricorn, enters Aquarius Feb. 2001, hits progressed last quarter in 2003, and then burns out towards a progressed New Moon which is a total eclipse (non-central ) in Taurus in 2010, when Pluto conjuncts his natal MC. Quite a decade!
